This renovation seamlessly converted an existing attic into a comfortable and accessible living space for the homeowner’s mother, preserving the home’s character while enhancing functionality.

To ensure accessibility, the home’s elevator was extended to reach the attic, offering a convenient solution for aging-in-place. A new staircase was also designed and built from the second-floor hallway, maintaining aesthetic harmony with the existing architecture. Additionally, portions of the roof and ceiling were reframed to optimize the attic’s footprint without requiring a dormer addition.
