Penthouse Roof Deck

This downtown DC penthouse condo presented a unique challenge: transforming a storm-damaged roof deck into a modern oasis. Our clients desired a low-maintenance space featuring an outdoor kitchen, improved lighting, and a relaxing water feature. The limited elevator access required meticulous planning, with materials craned to the site on three separate occasions.

To maximize functionality and aesthetics, we completely rebuilt the roof deck. A pressure-treated decking system with hidden fasteners provides a clean, sophisticated look. A new 6-foot fence with lattice sections ensures privacy while maintaining a sense of openness. The strategic placement of an outdoor kitchen eliminates the need for frequent trips between the condo and roof deck.

Quality and convenience define this project’s design choices. The pressure-treated decking offers durability with a clean aesthetic. We replaced the malfunctioning solar lighting with a network of strategically placed surface-mounted lights, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. A water fountain adds a touch of serenity, echoing the relaxing sounds the clients desired.
