This project in DC’s Palisades neighborhood focused on enhancing the functionality and style of the home’s exterior by replacing an existing deck and garage with a new screened-in porch and carport. The outdated structures were removed to create a more inviting and usable outdoor space.
The design focused on creating a seamless transition between the interior and exterior spaces. The screened-in porch features a spacious layout with ample room for entertaining. The large windows allow for abundant natural light. The carport is strategically located adjacent to the porch, providing convenient covered parking and protection from the elements.
The porch showcases a contemporary aesthetic with clean lines and modern finishes. Trex decking creates a durable and low-maintenance floor surface, while cedar framing adds warmth and natural texture to the lower and upper screens. A stone veneer accent wall on the privacy wall provides a touch of elegance and complements the overall design scheme.
