Military Road Modernization

We expanded the footprint significantly of the Upper Chevy Chase home with a two-story addition at the back maximizing space by including a small bump-out at the side for the stairs. A smaller addition was also built over the existing kitchen, creating a luxurious primary suite upstairs. The new rooflines seamlessly blend with the existing structure, preserving the home’s overall aesthetic.

The client's desire to maximize their living space drove the design. The new two-story addition houses an expansive family room on the first floor a new primary suite, laundry room, and additional bedrooms on the second floor. The renovated basement offered a versatile space including a new den and rec room. The thoughtfully designed staircase connecting the first and second floors is a focal point of the addition.

The exterior of the addition features durable and stylish Hardie siding, complementing the existing home's exterior. Inside, we focused on creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The interior design incorporates a blend of traditional and modern elements, with a focus on functionality and comfort. High-quality finishes and thoughtful attention to detail elevate the overall aesthetic of the space.
