This project involved a full addition and renovation of a 1937 brick center hall colonial in the Somerset neighborhood while maintaining the original charm of the house. The goal was to create a comfortable and functional family home with ample entertaining space. The expanding of the garage was the base of the three-level side addition.
The first floor was reconfigured to create a large, open kitchen integrated with the living and dining rooms. A casual breakfast area was added, along with a connection to the new outdoor patio. The second floor primary suite was expanded to include a walk-in closet, a bathroom with a double vanity, shower, and freestanding tub. The hall bathroom was also enlarged and given access from a bedroom and the hall. The attic was converted into a bedroom suite with a full en-suite bathroom.
The renovation preserved the original period trim and molding details while incorporating modern finishes and amenities. The kitchen features custom cabinetry, high-end appliances, and a large island. The master suite is a serene retreat with spa-like finishes. Throughout the home, a neutral color palette creates a timeless and elegant atmosphere.
