The homeowners of this 1920s Crestwood, DC home envisioned a luxurious primary suite but were limited by the existing floor plan. Recognizing the untapped potential of the attic space, we transformed this forgotten area into a breathtaking retreat. By maximizing the attic’s volume and natural light, we created a spacious and inviting primary suite that far exceeded the clients’ expectations.
To optimize the open layout of the primary suite bathroom, we incorporated a striking design element: a continuous clerestory glass panel that wraps around the enclosure. This innovative feature floods the space with natural light, creating an airy and spa-like ambiance. The frosted bathroom door maintains privacy while allowing soft light to filter through.
The bathroom’s luxurious aesthetic is achieved through the exquisite use of marble on both floors and walls. To add a touch of unexpected color and visual interest, we incorporated ice blue glass tile accents in the shower. This harmonious blend of materials creates a sophisticated and timeless space that is both functional and visually stunning.
