Zulma’s passion for design is rooted in family inspiration. Her aunt's successful career as a real estate agent and pioneering house flipper ignited Zulma's interest in the field, while her father's work in commercial construction and her brother's expertise as a commercial master electrician solidified her understanding of the building process.
Zulma's journey into interior design was driven by her desire to blend creativity with challenge. She finds great joy in transforming clients' visions into reality, creating spaces that not only meet their functional needs but also enhance their lives. The talented, collaborative, and supportive culture at Landis further fuels her passion for her work.
Throughout her career, Zulma has tackled complex projects, such as adding a theater room to a basement in D.C. despite space constraints. Her ability to find creative solutions and exceed client expectations is a testament to her skill and dedication. Zulma encourages aspiring designers to embrace the challenges and rewards of the field, emphasizing the opportunities for creativity and personal fulfillment in every new project.
Outside of work, Zulma is married, with a wonderful 5-year-old daughter, a senior Tabby cat, Nala, and energy-filled 1-year old mini Bernedoodle, Leeloo. Zulma enjoys experimenting with her dream landscape home project, and with her deep appreciation for nature and animals, she aspires to establish a senior animal rescue farm where older animals can live out their days in comfort and care.
