When Chris was a kid, he used to make houses from paper. He started studying engineering in college. To relieve stress, he sketched buildings. So he switched to Architecture. In addition to many years of being a designer for remodeling companies, Chris spent 13 years working for an architect who designed large, $10 million homes. His job was to detail them and figure out how to build them. However, he also learned a lot about design working on those projects
At Landis, Chris really enjoys helping our clients find the best design ideas for their home. He has worked on over 500 homes and has been inside over a thousand. Chris thinks that helps find designs for clients that they might not have been able to see. He also enjoys figuring out the construction history of homes. Many places in our area are old and have been through several phases of being worked on
Outside of work, Chris and his wife enjoy traveling throughout the world. They’ve been to over 50 countries. They enjoy seeing the different cultures in older towns and cities; and the natural surroundings. They have two adult sons, who are both in technical fields. One is a Naval Academy graduate and is now a reserve submarine officer. And his younger son is an IT systems administrator for the U.S. House of Representatives. Chrid also now has a grandson, who has the family traveling even more.
